Towards the end of 1965, Gibson introduced their revised, 2nd generation Firebird and Thunderbird models, commonly known as the “non-reverse” models.

Unlike the original models introduced in 1963, these non-reverse models had glued-in necks vs. the neck-through body construction of the previous models.
